The release of FastFinder Analysis 4.3 adds a number of new functionalities and major improvements:
- Support of in- and ex-run absolute quantitative analyses
- Prevalence-driven contamination checks
- Support for the LineGene 9600 qPCR instrument
- A deeper Workflow integration allowing users to see Workflow sample comments during Analysis
- Visualisation of notifications in the plate view
FastFinder Workflow 1.2 adds a number of major improvements as well:
- Support for manually pipetted runs & barcode scanning in sample batching and sample prep
- Extended support for the Hamilton STARlet
- Swapping of samples on output plates
- Storage of previous run comments to simplify run comment tracking
- Better tracking of runs by parsing sample transfers directly from the file
- Support for Hamilton STARlet and Hamilton MAGex run tracking
- Support for Roche LightCycler 480II and Roche Cobas Z480 plate map generation
- Adding process controls on variable positions
- Improvements of plate user interaction, plate visualisations and plate content visualisations
Lab Management 1.3 took on board valuable user feedback, including:
- Visualisation of analysis results of authorized analyses, including a plate view
- New instruments can be configured from the instruments configuration
As always, it is feedback from you that informs our roadmap, and allows us to keep improving FastFinder, so we want to thank you for your continued suggestions! Don’t hesitate to let us know how we can improve FastFinder even further.

Workflow 1.2.4 (Apr 21, 2021)
Improvements
-
Added support for transferring samples to a Tape Array by a Tecan Freedom EVO instrument
Workflow 1.2.1 (Mar 26, 2021)
New features
FastFinder Workflow, the solution within the FastFinder platform for sample and plate tracking across the entire path through the lab, also received a lot of attention in this release. Workflow now supports tracking controls that are placed on random positions and sample transfers that do not follow a fixed pattern. Usability improvements include swapping samples on any plate and highlighting sample transfers from source position to target position.
Last but not least, as the list below illustrates, the list of supported instruments has been extended again:
- STARlet by Hamilton (.csv)
- MagEx by Hamilton (.csv)
- LightCycler 480 type II by Roche (.ixo, .xml)
- Cobas z480 by Roche (.ixo, .xml)
Improvements
- Flexibly adding samples to empty positions of a plate prepared by an instrument is now supported
- When entering the barcode of a sample or plate redundant spaces at the start or end are automatically removed
Fixed bugs
The following issues have been fixed in the Workflow 1.2 release:
- An identical instrument ID can be used for multiple instruments, which leads to errors when tracking runs for those instruments in workflow
- Mix info is not shown in PCR plate tooltip
- Download PCR file does not work
- When marking a run as completed the page is not disabled
- Plate doesn't scale when switching from high to low resolution at the moment the plate is viewed
- The plates view and workflow overview are not automatically updated
- When viewing a run the loading animation is shown for a few seconds when a file is uploaded in the background
Design improvements
- Moved the Workflow plate setup download button to the logical location: the PCR Setup input screen and the Plates overview in the Workflow overview
- Synchronized the design of the sub-navigation in Workflow to be consistent with Lab Management and Analysis
