No, the software is compatible with your firewall infrastructure. UgenTec FastFinder, the analysis platform for PCR data analysis, interpretation and reporting, has both a client (a piece of software installed on your computer) and a server-side part (private database and dedicated computing power to your lab). The client allows the user to analyze and visualize data, and for this to work, the server does the “heavy lifting”, running the AI algorithms and executing decision trees, to name a few.
In order for FastFinder to work, a connection is required to the specifically defined address of the UgenTec servers, in no case unrestricted internet access is required for the client (installed on the user’s workstation) to be able to use the workhorse algorithms. That being said, no full internet access is required for this to work. Instead, UgenTec products are fully compatible with your lab or hospital’s DNS-based firewall exception system, allowing your IT staff to set network access rules, and maintain the right level of control.
